Back to School

Calgary had experienced more rain this summer than we could imagine and we were sick for a good chunk of August. That being said, we still had a really good summer. I got a road trip to Denver in and the girls and I made a couple of trips back to Saskatoon. We got a little time in at the lake and spent some nice weekends here in McKenzie Towne. Both Berlin & Vienna are excited to get back to school. Vienna will be entering Grade 1 this year and seems quite prepared. Her reading is already pretty good and so are her basic math skills. We’re excited to see her use those skills in school this year!

I’ll be heading out to Kelowna for our annual Portfolio Strategies Convention this September. There have been many exciting developments in our industry that we’ll be discussing in detail. I’ve gone over a lot of the new disclosure documents with clients this year and have talked about how the Annual Statements that come out in January will be more straightforward and informational. I expect a very good convention this year with more news on the important changes coming to the Canadian market. Once I return, we will likely stay close to home for the remainder of 2016. I look forward to seeing as many clients as possible before the Holidays in December!
