A Rough Way to Start the Quarter

As I write this, more details are coming in about the mass shooting in Las Vegas. It will go down as the worst mass shooting in US history and our hearts go out to all of those affected. I’ll admit, it’s not easy writing an upbeat newsletter when this kind of thing happens, especially with the terrorist event that just happened in Edmonton recently. There really has been a lot of good news to report out there with decent job growth in North America and US & Canadian Stocks rising nicely in September. Unfortunately, this kind of thing will take attention off of the positives.

As we go into the last quarter of the year, I’ll ask you to contact me if you’d like to get a meeting in before the Christmas Holidays. Natalie and I will work up until the last day of school this year which will be December 21st. We’ll come back into the office on January 8th. Please get in touch with me in the coming weeks as I expect my schedule to fill right up before the break. Other than a couple of short seminars out of town and a trip up to Edmonton, I expect to be in Calgary for the rest of the year.

Speaking of getting in touch, I figure I should send out a little message about contacting our office. While I know that many people like using text messaging, I have to warn that it’s really not a good way to get in touch with us. Some of these end up going to our office number so we miss them. Other messages do make their way to my cell phone but as I have my phone set to only ring if there is an incoming phone call, I often miss texts. Sometimes I don’t notice them until the end of the day and occasionally, they get missed for a couple of days. If there is anything that you’d like to discuss that is time sensitive, please do not text me! Further to this, Natalie and I keep very good notes and track all communication as much as possible. It’s easy for us to do that with email but much more time consuming with texts. Long story short; all business should be conducted through Phone and Email.

Have a good start to the last quarter of the year and hope to see you before 2018!
